Iran’s representative invited to world chefs' summit

 Samira Janatdoust, winner of a number of global titles and awards, has been invited to the world top chefs summit which will be hosted by the well-known institute of Gourmand in France.

According to the Paniz Mehr Iranian’s Public Relations Department, Gourmand International, known as the Oscar of world’s cooking contests, is the organizer of the Gourmand World Summit that will bring together the world’s top chefs who have won awards in the past three years.

The event is aimed to be an opportunity for introducing the cookbooks selected as the best at Gourmand contests—the most prestigious cooking contest of the world—to the international publishers. This year’s edition will be held in late March.

An invitation to a gathering of the winners of the past three years was received via email last week, said Samira Janatdoust, head of the international institute of Paniz.

“By the email, I was invited as Iran’s representative to present my books, particularly the Cookies, as a special book that has won the world special award,” she elaborated.

The Iranian chef also noted that an exclusive desk at the event would be devoted to Iran.

“I have been asked to present all my books, but the presentation of Modern Cooking (winner of the world best award in 2014 and the winner of Best of the Best in 2015), Iranian Cuisine and Deserts (winner of the world best in 2016) and the Cookies (winner of the world special award in 2018) will be a development of special importance to Iran, she added.

Janatdoust described the event as a unique opportunity to present the Iranian food culture to the world. It is scheduled to be held in Paris on March 20-22.

Samira Janatdoust has written seven books—Deserts, Iranian Cuisine, Modern Cuisine, Cookies, Cakes, Cold and Hot Beverages, Table and Fruits Decoration. Being named the best food writings in the world, four of the books won the awards of the Gourmand world contests in France, and one won Gourmand’s special award.

The Janatdoust’s cookbook, Modern Cuisine, was named the best cookbook of the world in the past 20 years. Her Iranian Cuisine and Deserts were named the best in 2016, and the Cookies won 2018 world special award.
